Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn Hawks will contest the elimination final 2 match of the 2024 AFL Finals in what is expected to be an intense clash between the two giants.

The MCG has not been an easy stadium for Luke Beveridge's side to compete in. They have only played on this ground six times over the last two seasons, seeing minimal success.

Hawthorn, on the other hand, are much more used to competing at the MCG and are familiar with the intimidating atmosphere created by the big crowd. They boast a winning margin of 55.6 points in their last 5 games in this arena.

Western Bulldogs vs. Hawthorn match preview

After a poor start to their seasons, both the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn have gone on an impressive run to reach the elimination final this year.

The Doggies won six of their last seven matches, beating rivals GWS comfortably in their last game, to make it to the elimination final. However, they will miss Will Day, who has been a crucial part of their amazing campaign so far.

Hawthorn however come into this game as favourites, having already defeated Western Bulldogs in a closely-fought match earlier this season. Additionally, they have scored 100+ points in four of their last five games which could be a problem for the Doggies' backline.
