Following an initial booking that got nixed, fight fans will finally see Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol before 2024 ends. The fight is to determine the first undisputed light heavyweight champion since Roy Jones Jr. accomplished the feat two decades ago.

Beterbiev is a four-time amateur gold medalist who turned pro in 2013. The Russian with Canadian citizenship won the IBF light heavyweight title in 2017, the WBC belt in 2019, and the WBO title in 2022. The 39-year-old last fought in January, decimating Callum Smith.

Bivol turned pro in 2014. He won the interim WBA light heavyweight title in 2016 and was elevated to the full-time champion. The Russian became a worldwide sensation when he beat Canelo Alvarez in a one-sided affair in 2022. Bivol has since won three straight, earning his first knockout win since 2018 against Malik Zinad

The Zinad fight came to be because Beterbiev suffered a ruptured meniscus in training, forcing a June 1 matchup against Bivol to get nixed. A motivated Bivol is ready to finally fight Beterbiev for all the gold and even match the power of Beterbiev, who has a 100% knockout-to-win ratio.

"I believe that my power is every time with me," said Bivol via ESPN. "I didn't have doubts, of course [my] power [is] with me."
