Carlo Ancelotti is one of football's most famous managers having taken charge of various big clubs across Europe.

The Italian has been coaching since 1992 when he was an assistant to the Italy national team.

Since then, Ancelotti has managed the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Everton.

The Sporting News answers some of the most pressing questions about the Italian manager.

How old is Carlo Ancelotti?

Ancelotti is currently 63 years old and will turn 64 on June 10, 2023.

The veteran coach has been in the spotlight for over four decades now, having first burst onto the scene as a midfielder with Parma in 1976.

After a successful playing career that also saw him line up for Roma and AC Milan, Ancelotti really rose to prominence as a manager in 2003 when he won the UEFA Champions League with the Rossoneri.

The Italian has worked continuously in recent years with his most recent break from the game coming in 2017 after being sacked by Bayern Munich.

What is Carlo Ancelotti's current contract situation with Real Madrid?

Ancelotti left Everton to return to Real Madrid on June 1, 2021 and his current deal runs until June 30, 2024.

The 62-year-old was reportedly earning £11 million per season at the Toffees and it's expected he's pulling in a similar amount at the Santiago Bernabeu.

If Real Madrid were to sack Ancelotti, they'd need to pay out his wages for at least one year, but the situation continues to evolve this season.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is determined to end the campaign as European champions again, and Ancelotti is under pressure, with Brazil already making an offer to tempt him away from Madrid.

Ancelotti himself is keen to remain in charge for a long time to come and has all but ruled out coaching another club once his current reign at Real Madrid over.

"After Real, yes, I probably stop," Ancelotti told Amazon Prime Video in May. "But if Real keep me here for 10 years, I'll coach here for 10 years."

His 2022 win moved him past Bob Paisley and Zinedine Zidane, who have managed to win three UEFA Champions League titles.

Ancelotti also notably won the competition twice as a player with AC Milan in 1989 and 1990 when it was known at the European Cup.
