The PFL Playoffs have officially begun! Various fighters competed in the regular season and now a select few face off to determine who will be one step closer to winning $1 million. PFL 7, known as the start of the playoffs, airs on August 4.

The first fight card of the PFL Playoffs takes place at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. The event airs on ESPN+ in the U.S. and DAZN in the U.K. Featherweights and light heavyweights will be showcased on this card.

Headlining will be Bubba Jenkins vs. Jesus Pinedo in a featherweight bout.

Jenkins turned pro in 2011. "Bad Man" joined the PFL in 2021 and is 7-2 with the promotion. After losing to Brendan Loughnane in the finals last year, he has gone 2-0 this season. One of those wins came against Chris Wade, who beat him in 2021.

Calling his run "The Correction Tour,” momentum is on Jenkins' side.

Speaking of momentum, Pinedo beat Loughnane in an Upset of the Year candidate to advance to the semi-finals. The Peruvian fighter is 1-1 this season, with the Loughnane win securing his spot. He now looks to pull off another upset and is not worried about going toe-to-toe with an NCAA Division I wrestling champion in Jenkins.

“It’s not going to be complicated for me at all to fight Bubba Jenkins,” Pinedo told Danny Segura via MMA Junkie. “It’s not that I’m underestimating him. I know it’s going to be a tough fight, but I’m totally confident in the work I’ve been doing for many years. My academy has produced wrestlers like Claudio (Puelles), (Enrique) ‘El Fuerte’ Barzola. In all the sparring, there’s wrestling, wrestling, and more wrestling. I’m used to that style.”

In other action, Wade faces Gabriel Braga at featherweight. In the light heavyweight division, Josh Silveira faces Ty Flores, while Marthin Hamlet faces Impa Kasanganay.
