The 49ers spent most of the 2024 NFL offseason trying to negotiate new contracts with holdouts Brandon Aiyuk and Trent Williams.

Aiyuk finally agreed to a new deal with the team on Aug. 29. Williams is following suit soon after.

Williams has signed a contract with the 49ers that will make him the highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL. Previously, he had ranked sixth in average annual value; now the three-time All-Pro and key cog in the San Francisco offense will be properly compensated as one of the league's top blockers.

Here's what to know about Williams' contract and how it compares to the other top tackle contracts in the NFL.

Trent Williams contract details

Williams signed a reworked contract with the 49ers that will pay him $82.66 million over three years.

Williams had previously signed a six-year, $138.06 million extension with the 49ers in 2021. That deal was set to run through the 2026 NFL season, but the remaining three years of the deal contained very little in guaranteed money.

Williams' new deal remedies that issue. That should allow the 36-year-old to remain happy in San Francisco for the rest of his career.
