Lionel Messi is heading to Inter Miami in Major League Soccer after deciding to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract this summer.

The Argentina international was offered deals by both former club Barcelona and teams in Saudi Arabia, but the World Cup winner opted for a move to the United States.

The 35-year-old already has a home in the city, where his close friend Sergio Aguero also lives. Former team-mate Sergio Busquets is also linked with a move to Miami along with compatriot Angel Di Maria.

The Sporting News looks at prices to watch Messi on the road in MLS this season.

Inter Miami home game ticket prices

Inter Miami are currently bottom of the Eastern Conference in MLS having won just five of their 16 matches in the league so far. Phil Neville was sacked as head coach following a 1-0 defeat to New York Red Bulls.

Messi's contract with PSG runs out on June 30, 2023. He is expected to join his new team-mates in Miami on July 5. He could make his home debut in MLS against Charlotte on 20 August, while his final fixture of the season will be against Cincinnati on October 8. 

Ticket prices for these games have not been released on the Inter Miami website as they are likely to change due to the arrival of Messi. For their next home fixture against Austin their cheapest ticket costs $34 while their most expensive ticket is going for $236.

Most expensive city to watch Lionel Messi on the road in MLS

Fans in MLS cities where Messi is expected to play are already buying tickets to watch one of the greatest players of all time. Some buyers are also reselling their tickets, with a few going for exorbitant prices.

The most expensive price to just get in the door to watch Messi on the road is $480 at Los Angeles FC.  

According to the Charlotte FC website, the most expensive ticket available for their final game of the season against Miami is going for $25,000. This is a resale price, with many others also selling tickets for $10,000.

Cheapest city to watch Lionel Messi on the road in MLS

Inter Miami's upcoming away games against New England Revolution and Philadelphia Union are very unlikely to feature Messi due to his PSG contract and MLS transfer window.

The cheapest city to watch Messi on the road is currently Atlanta United in Georgia. The lowest price for a ticket at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which opened in 2017, is $125. 

Atlanta's home stadium has the highest capacity of any team in MLS, ahead of Charlotte and Seattle Sounders. Charlotte also have relatively cheap tickets, with the prices starting at $150.
