Manchester United have reportedly started looking into the possibility of signing Neymar, which would be the blockbuster move of the Red Devils' 2023 summer window.
The club have also been linked to Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, who would surely bolster a midfield mainly manned by Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, and Fred.
But the Neymar talk has dominated the headlines. According to L'Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain are planning to sell the Brazil international and the Red Devils are interested in the winger. However, it is said that the English side want to pursue a loan deal instead of a permanent transfer.
The record Premier League champions added to their Brazilian contingency last summer with the signings of Casemiro and Antony, but Neymar would certainly be a step up.
Here's what Man United manager Erik ten Hag said on the rumours as recently as May 24.

Man United join Mason Mount race
As part of the planned changes at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag is also rumoured to be considering a move for Chelsea star Mason Mount, according to reports from The Guardian.
Mount is potentially on his way out of Stamford Bridge, after stalling over a long-term contract at his boyhood club, with Arsenal and Liverpool already registering an interest in the England international.
The report claims United are ready to open with a £55m bid to test Chelsea's willingness to part ways with the 24-year-old. The positive news for Man United is that Mount is apparently leaning toward joining the Red Devils, according to The Athletic, which could help push the deal through.
It's now up to Chelsea and what they will decide to do with Mount entering the final year of his contract with the Blues (expires June 2024).
Negotiations begin with Neymar?
Manchester United will reportedly negotiate with the player first to make sure that he is interested in a move before talking to the French club about potentials terms of a transfer.
If the transfer does go through, it is likely that Man United will need to sell at least one attacker.
But it's worth noting that after the news broke in France, reports in England quelled the buzz with Man United clearly moving swiftly to silence the rumours.

Martial's time in Manchester could be over
Fans lost their patience with Martial after the striker walked straight down the tunnel after being substituted in their win over Bournemouth.
According to RMC Sport, Ten Hag is ready to sell the Frenchman as he has not lived up to standards both on and off the pitch.
Sabitzer deal could become permanent
Sky Sport Germany has reported that Man United are interested in permanently signing Sabitzer from Bayern in the summer.
The 29-year-old's loan spell with the Red Devils has been successful, helping them return to the Champions League for the 2023/24 season.
There has been no development as of yet due to the ownership situation at Man United. Once that is sorted, the deal could progress a lot quicker.
