Bryan Danielson was content with his role in AEW. He never wished to win gold. He also promised his kids that their dad would return home to watch them grow. A true people’s champion, Danielson’s journey gave everyone hope that they could achieve their dreams.

He continued to give people hope following AEW’s All In event.

Ten years after Bryan Danielson finished his Cinderella Story at WrestleMania 30, “The American Dragon” again reached the top of the mountain. Danielson beat Swerve Strickland to become AEW World Champion in front of over 50,000+ fans at Wembley Stadium.

Danielson put his career on the line. That usually means a career-defining but ending match. However, given AEW’s recent run at treating the fans to solid storytelling in its matches, it made for some unpredictable booking. A bloody Danielson fought against the dangerous Strickland, who taunted him in front of his family every chance he got.

Danielson landed dangerous move after dangerous move, as did Strickland. It looked like the end of Danielson’s career following several close calls. The same could be said for Strickland’s reign with rival “Hangman” Adam Page almost costing him the match. However, it ended with the two in the ring, with Danielson forcing Strickland to tap out.

The family of Danielson came in the ring, the exact one he said he would retire for. As of now, his in-ring career continues. He heads to his home of Washington next month for WrestleDream as a champion.

YES! YES! YES! #ANDNEW #AEW World Champion!

Someone to keep an eye on: Christian Cage, who won the Casino Gauntlet to earn a title shot.

It was a night to remember, not just for Danielson but for the entire AEW roster.

Jack Perry used real glass, which started issues with CM Punk last year, against Darby Allin in a Coffin match. Allin did all he could to put his body on the line in the name of violence and then some. Perry used it to his advantage, beating Allin to a pulp to retain the TNT Title.

An AEW original and recent signing faced off as Britt Baker failed to capture the AEW TBS Title against Mercedes Mone. The two were in a tough spot after several top-tier matches but they delivered.

At one point, Baker used the moves of Mone's idol Eddie Guerrero against her, forcing bodyguard Kamille out of the match. Following a back-and-forth affair, Mone retained the title. It doesn't look like the two are done with one another.

Will Ospreay reclaimed the glory of the AEW International Title by beating "American Champion" MJF. Like their first match on Dynamite, they gave it their all in a classic. Ospreay was initially tentative to use the Tiger Driver, but MJF gave him no choice.

Daniel Garcia, who MJF attacked weeks ago, returned to distract MJF and allowed Ospreay to use the dreaded move for the win. Ospreay now holds the correct belt, throwing out the American title MJF had around his waist.

It appears Garcia is staying with AEW just a bit longer.

The Casino Gauntlet was full of surprises. Nigel McGuinness made his long-awaited in-ring return, while Ricochet joined AEW. However, it was Cage, who lost trios gold earlier in the night, that weaseled his way into the match and earned a future world title opportunity.

The Young Bucks retained the AEW World Tag Team Titles against FTR and The Acclaimed. The EVPs used every dirty trick in the book to keep their belts. Though they won, they immediately had a new challenge ahead of them in James Drake and Zack Gibson, Grizzled Young Veterans, who made their presence felt after the match.

Hook once again holds the FTW Title after beating Chris Jericho. It was a match that proved Hook is better than a Jericho feud and the FTW Title.

Mariah May went from passionate fan to undisputed champion as she took down former idol Toni Storm to become the AEW Women's World Champion. The match was everything you wanted in a blood rivalry, with violence and all the emotion. Storm forced May to bleed, and the latter did everything she could to take down Storm.

Storm refused to play dirty in the end, and May took advantage. She landed a Storm Zero, Storm’s signature move, and won gold after winning the Owen Hart tournament. Storm turned a gimmick that could have been dead in the water and made it into something fans will never forget. She truly is timeless.

To open the show, Pac and the Blackpool Combat Club won trios gold in a ladder match. Cage continued his heel ways and paid for it. Pac, usually teaming with the Lucha Brothers, has new teammates in Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. He got a moment in front of his home fans after missing All In last year.

What does this mean regarding the status of Penta and Rey Fenix?

The Sporting News provided results, match grades and analysis, and highlights from AEW All In 2024.

12:30 p.m. ET: The last pre-show match saw Dustin Rhodes, Sammy Guevara, Katsuyori Shibata, and The Von Erichs (Marshall Von Erich and Ross Von Erich) beat The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) and Cage of Agony (Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona). The new Von Erich family get a moment in front of 50,000+.

Saraya comes out with her entire family. She is upset she is not booked for the show after winning the women's world title last year. Jamie Hayter is back after a long absence. Everyone rejoice!

The ladder match for the AEW World Trios Titles starts off the PPV. The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne) defend the belts against the Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn), House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) and Pac and Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta).

Pac, Blackpool Combat Club win trios gold

All teams go after The Patriarchy as Christian left the match. It was chaos to start as House of Black brought out tables. Pac was injured last year and didn't attend the Wembley show. This year, he got a standing ovation. Everyone went over the top rope. The Gunns pull a Dudley Boyz ("get the tables"). Christian returned while everyone was down, but Claudio and King tossed him. Everyone ganged up on him.

Mother Wayne tried to climb up the ladder but the Gunn's stopped her. Killswitch cleaned house until Brody got in the ring. Nick Wayne hit a cutter to Brody through a table. Killswitch went for the titles but Christian wanted the glory. Claudio, who just came back from Mexico, Yuta, and Pac cleared the ring. Chairs got involved thanks to the Gunn's, and they brought out more tables.

Claudio and and Brody had the Gunn's on their back, and they both went through tables with them on their back. Wayne got hit with a ladder. All of the ladders are very small. Wayne hit a destroyer to Black through a table on the outside. Robinson finally got a tall ladder. Cage forced Robinson to fall between the ropes. Pac got hit with the Killswitch through a chair. Cage got hair spray from Mother Wayne to use against Yuta.

Cage and Robinson dueled with chairs. The spray got used against Mother Wayne, but before Robinson can put her through a table, Killswitch put him through it. Matthews hit Killswitch with a ladder, and Christian speared him from the ladder through a table. Killswitch pushed Cage to the ladder, helping him climb up it. Pac climbed and pushed Christian off the ladder. Pac got the belts.

Pac was likely supposed to team with Penta and Fenix before all the contract rumors with the Lucha Brothers. So no more Death Triangle. But Pac still gets a moment in London. A solid match with plenty of moments.

Grade: B

"Timeless" Toni Storm defends the AEW Women's World Title against Mariah May. Surprised the blood rivalry is going second.

A Star is Born: Mariah May wins gold against rival Toni Storm

The crowd gave the ladies a standing ovation. They get emotional and start beating each other up. Mina Shirakawa is in the crowd. Chops got traded, until Storm landed a big DDT. Hip attack blocked and May landed a powerbomb to the outside. May spun Storm around and landed brutal dropkicks.

May mockingly comforted Storm, which angered the champion. May with a back suplex and a big knee from the outside of the ring. She took out Luther and slapped her own mother. Storm with a hip attack and a Storm Zero on the steel steps. Storm was bleeding as Storm ragdolled her across the ring. May finally got back into the match and landed a hip attack. And another. And another. A fourth attempt got blocked into a big clothesline and a suplex.

Storm with a hip attack of her own. Storm Zero but only for two. May got back up and slapped the taste out of Storm's mouth. They traded blows. May kicked Storm low, but so did Storm. Double headbutt to a standing ovation. Mayday but only for two. Luther took the women's title from May before she could use it. May tried using a bloody shoe but Storm grabbed it. She almost used it but Storm got emotional. Storm Zero attempt but a rollup connected. Knee to the back and front of Storm, then a Storm Zero from May for three.

What a match. The story and match delivered. May finally won the big one and became a massive star.

Hook chops down Chris Jericho, once again holds FTW gold

Hook and Chris Jericho competed for the FTW Title. It is FTW rules. Big Bill and Bryan Keith got involved in the match but Hook persevered. Jericho took out cricket balls, but Hook suplexed Jericho onto them. Hook used a cricket bat and hit everyone in The Learning Tree. Keith helped Jericho out and he locked in the Walls of Jericho.

Hook put Jericho in his own version of the Walls. Bill interfered and took out a table. Keith took out a barbed wire board and put it on the table. Jericho blinded Hook by taking out his one good eye. Hook took off his eyepatch and suplexed Jericho. Redrum attempt and Bill interfered. Jericho accidentally hit Bill and he went through the barbed wire table. Redrum attempt, Keith hit Hook with something, but Jericho could only get two.

Kendo stick attempt and Hook hit the Redrum. Taz hit the Tazzmission on Keith. Jericho tapped out. Hook is FTW champion again.

That was... a match. It is time. Keep Hook far away from Jericho and put him in a real feud. I know he just won it, but separate himself from the FTW Title. He needs it.

The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) defend the AEW World Tag Team Title against FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) next. The Jacksons are dressed like The Beatles.

The Casino Gauntlet match for a future AEW World Title match is up next. Orange Cassidy entered the match at number one, which he earned. Kazuchika Okada is number two. The former tried making fun of Sabre, but the latter used his impressive submission skills to hurt Okada. Roderick Strong out next. He attacked the back of everyone. Mark Briscoe quickly came out next.

"Hangman" Adam Page up next and business picked up. He cleaned house to a loud ovation. Jeff Jarrett came out next, and Page wanted a piece of him. Page threw Jarrett to everyone on the outside. Karen Jarrett almost got attacked by Page. Ricochet is in AEW! He received a standing ovation.
