Chelsea squad 2023/24
Chelsea have been busy again during the summer transfer window as they look to focus on both incomings and outgoings.
Alongside the arrivals of Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi and Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea have already sold a string of first team players, with Mateo Kovacic joining Premier League champions Manchester City and Kai Havertz crossing the capital to sign for Arsenal.
Senegalese duo Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly have accepted offers to join the Saudi Pro League recruitment drive at Al Ahli and Al Hilal respectively and USA star Christian Pulisic has moved to AC Milan.
Mason Mount has joined Premier League rivals Manchester United, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek has completed a transfer to AC Milan with N'Golo Kante and Cesar Azpilicueta released. Hakim Ziyech has signed for Galatasaray on loan, while Kepa Arrizabalaga has joined Real Madrid for the season.
The Blues currently have 13 players in the defensive department as Levi Colwill, Malo Gusto and Malang Sarr return from loan, but academy product Lewis Hall has been borrowed by Newcastle United, who are obliged to sign him at the end of the season based on performance-related criteria.
Romelu Lukaku is still contracted to the club as he rejoins the squad following a one-year loan at Inter Milan.
Their latest midfield additions saw them splash a whopping £115m on Moises Caicedo before another £58m on Romeo Lavia.
