Emma Raducanu net worth: Career earnings, prize money as 2021 US Open champion enjoys Wimbledon return

Emma Raducanu put a year of injury heartbreak behind her with a winning return to Centre Court at Wimbledon, claiming a straight sets win over Renata Zarazua in round one.

It has been a turbulent and torrid time for the 21-year-old after her astonishing triumph at the 2021 US Open. 

Raducanu completed the fairytale of all fairytales as she became the first-ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam and did not drop a set throughout the entire tournament at Flushing Meadows.

That preceded a rise to a peak ranking of world number 10 the following year but that had fallen to 289 by the end of a nightmare 2023, when Raducanu had to undergo surgery on her ankle and both wrists to remove bone spurs.

It's been a rollercoaster of a ride for the Brit, as she prepares to continue her grand slam comeback against Belgium's Elise Mertens, The Sporting News has taken a look at just how much money she's made so far.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Raducanu is worth an estimated $15 million (£11.8 million).

After her unprecedented rise on the court,  Raducanu was not short of companies looking to strike up endorsement deals. She is sponsored by Nike, while her racquets are supplied by Wilson. Outside of tennis, Raducanu is a brand ambassador for Dior and Tiffany & Co., as well as for British Airways, Vodafone, Evian and Porsche. 

Although 2023 was a year of injury frustration in a sporting sense, off the court Raducanu's portfolio thrived as her Harbour 6 company posted profits of £10.2m in its accounts. The company, for which Raducanu serves as director and sole employee, accrued £6.2m in cash, £2.3m in stocks and had £1.6m owed by debtors.

To date, as per the WTA, Raducanu has made $4.04m (£3.2m) in career earnings.

A large portion of that came as a result of her US Open triumph where she pocketed a cool $2.5m (£1.8m) after beating Leylah Fernandez in the final.

Speaking after her win in New York, Raducanu revealed her prize money would go towards helping her continue to compete on the WTA tour.

“I will just leave that to my parents. They can take that for me. I haven’t gone shopping yet," she said. "I know that tennis is an extremely expensive sport, so it will probably go towards that."

Raducanu, who speaks English, Mandarin and Romanian, saw her popularity soar after making headlines in New York. although her fallow period on the court has seen those numbers level off.

She has 638.5k followers on X (formerly Twitter), down from 663k in 2022, while her Instagram following has dipped slightly from 2.5m to 2.4m.

In comparison, current world No.1 Iga Swiatek has 1.7m followers on Instagram while Venus Williams has 2m, with sister Serena boasting a whopping 17.2m fans.
