The Rangers are in the midst of a West Coast swing, first facing the Athletics before crossing the bay a weekend series against the Giants.

The Rangers have been on a tear since the trade deadline, though injury continues to plague their surge in the standings. The latest being AL Rookie of the Year candidate Josh Jung, who fractured his left (non-throwing) thumb fielding a 100 mph line drive and is expected to be out six weeks, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News.

While Texas enters the weekend leading the AL West, the Giants trail the Dodgers in the NL West but are comfortably in wild card position. So it'll be two playoff-caliber teams facing off at Oracle Park to open a high-profile series.
