The hits keep on coming for the Vikings.

On the same day that Minnesota announced that rookie QB J.J. McCarthy would be out for the year with a torn meniscus, wide receiver Jordan Addison had to be carted off the practice field with an ankle injury.

While McCarthy was not a guarantee to become the starting QB, Addison is expected to be a focal point in the Vikings' offense. With star WR Justin Jefferson playing alongside him, Addison is in line to take another step forward in his second season in the NFL.

In 2023, the No. 23 overall pick from last year's draft played in all 17 games for Minnesota, accumulating 911 receiving yards on 70 receptions and 10 touchdowns, which led the club. When Jefferson was injured during the season, took over as the teams' top option at wide receiver. Only tight end T.J. Hockenson had more targets than Addison last year (127 to 108).
