Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has spoken out on rumours that he considered leaving the club this summer.

De Bruyne turned 33 in June, with the Belgian international now into the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, amid uncertainty over his next step.

Links to the Saudi Pro League emerged following his return to preseason training after a post-Euro 2024 break.

However, that did not formalise into an offer, and De Bruyne remains crucial to Pep Guardiola's plans for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, regardless of his contract status.

A call will be made on his future in the months ahead, but De Bruyne was quick to dismiss speculation that he wanted to move on, before his contract runs out.

"There has been a lot of noises and news. I said in the summer I expect a quiet summer and that's actually what happened", as per reports from BBC Radio Manchester.

"I've been on holiday for four weeks, came back and started training. That was it. Nothing to tell.

"I haven't spoken to anybody."

City face key decisions on a host of contracts in 2025, with Guardiola's own deal also up, and both player and manager are expected to wait to see the outcome of the case against the club for 115 alleged breaches of financial rules by the Premier League.
