The UEFA Europa Conference League final will take place at the Eden Arena in the Czech Republic on June 7, 2023.

The game will feature either Basel or Fiorentina and West Ham or AZ Alkmaar as the four teams compete for European glory and a spot in the 2023/24 Europa League group stage.

This is the second edition of the Conference League, which is Europe's tertiary club football tournament. Roma won the inaugural campaign last season under the guidance of former Manchester United and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

The Sporting News looks at the venue for the final and some of the high-profile previous events held at the impressive stadium.

What is the capacity of Eden Arena?

The Eden Arena was first opened in 2008 and the construction cost £36.6 million ($45.4 million). It is sometimes known as the Fortuna Arena under a naming rights agreement, and has previously been called Synot Tip Arena and the Sinobo Stadium as part of commercial deals.

The stadium has a capacity of 20,800 and a field size of 105 metres. That means it can hold signifcantly fewer fans than the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, where the 2023 Champions League final will take place.

The Eden Arena is also around 47,000 seats smaller than the Puskas Arena in Budapest – the setting for the 2023 Europa League final.

Slavia Prague have been playing their home games at the stadium since it opened. Viktoria Plzen also played their Champions League group stage home game at the venue during the 2011/12 season.

Where is Eden Arena located?

The arena, which is a UEFA Category 4 stadium, is located in the suburb of Vrsovic in the Czech capital of Prague.

The arena is the largest stadium in the country and one of the most modern football stadiums in the Czech Republic.

The foundation stone was laid in October 2006. Slavia faced Oxford University AFC in the first match there in 2008, inviting the club's first ever English opponents, who they originally played against in 1899.

Historic matches played at Eden Arena

The Eden Arena has been used 17 times by the Czech Republic national team, including 13 competitive matches. They have played against Brazil, England and Germany at the stadium since 2008.

Bayern Munich also have some history at the venue, beating Chelsea to the 2013 UEFA Super Cup. Frank Ribery won the man of the match award as the Bavarian side won 5-4 on penalties.

It isn't just top footballers who've been on song at the arena: Bon Jovi, Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen have been among the bands to play there.
