Liverpool made a big signing in the January transfer window, bringing in Colombian star Luis Diaz from FC Porto.

The winger was poised to sign for Tottenham Hotspur before Liverpool swooped in at the final hour to sign the 24-year-old winger, for a reported fee of $50 million plus a further $16 million in add-ons.

He first made waves around Europe whilst playing for Porto against Manchester City in last year’s Champions League, scoring a brilliant solo goal as City prevailed 3-1 winners on the night.

Now, he's enjoyed a promising start to life in England, helping to force through a goal on his FA Cup debut with his pressing, and earning Jurgen Klopp's high praise after his Premier League bow against Leicester.

Alongside Diogo Jota, Diaz is looking to break up the spectacular front-three which has served the Reds so well in recent years, of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

But how does he fare on the virtual field? Should Liverpool fans get him into their playing squad on PlayStation and Xbox? Sporting News takes a look at his numbers on EA Sports' FIFA.

What are Luis Diaz's FUT card ratings?

On FIFA Ultimate Team, Anfield's new hero has the following key attributes:

  • Overall Rating: 83
  • Position: LM

Does Luis Diaz have a Liverpool FUT card?

He doesn't have a standard Liverpool card yet, but does have a special 'Headliner' card in a Liverpool jersey, with an overall rating of 88.

When he does eventually get added to FUT as a Liverpool player by EA Sports, one would expect an upgrade - potentially in line with his Porto 'In-Form' card, which had an overall rating of 83.

What is Luis Diaz's FIFA Career Mode potential?

At the start of FIFA 22 back in October, Diaz was only rated 80, but due to a string of good performances, his level on the main game (i.e. not in Ultimate Team) has risen to 83.

His potential is set at 86 – which is the same as Thiago, but lower than midfielder Harvey Elliott (87) and fellow forward Jota (88).

He shares similar attributes to Salah and Mane, as he too possesses tremendous pace, good dribbling and strong shooting ability that should make him popular with FIFA players.
