Who held the WNBA single-season rebound record?

When Reese grabbed her sixth rebound of the game, she broke Sylvia Fowles' single-season rebounding record of 404 boards in 2018.

Fowles achieved the feat in 34 games for the Lynx (when there were only 34 games in the WNBA regular season). Even though Reese's rookie season will be 40 games long, she broke the record in 32 games.

With eight games remaining, Reese will be able to extend the record to a comfortable distance. Averaging 12.9 rebounds per game, the superstar rookie should easily eclipse 500 boards.

This is far from the first rebounding record Reese has broken this season.

In the previous game, she broke Tina Charles' rookie record for rebounds in a season (398). She also became the first player in WNBA history to have three straight 20-rebound games and set a WNBA record with 15 consecutive double-doubles.
