We're well into the thick of things as the middle stretch of the 2024 Formula One season continues at pace, and after McLaren's Australian star Oscar Piastri collected his first-ever career win at the Hungaroring last weekend, the 20 drivers head to the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Liege for this year's Belgian Grand Prix.
McLaren teammates Piastri and Lando Norris recorded a one-two finish ahead of British Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton, with defending world champion Max Verstappen well back in fifth place following a controversial mix-up with Hamilton which could have cost him dearly.
The Dutchman still retains a healthy 76-point lead at the top of the World Drivers' Championship rankings, but stuck in the worst run of form we've seen for a long, long time, Verstappen's untouchable status has come under serious threat this season.
Hamilton's Mercedes teammate George Russell had an afternoon to forget having won in Austria just two races prior, but he still managed to record the fastest lap as he finished eighth having started the race all the way back in 17th place.
With the Netherlands and Italy the last two meetings on the European map to tick off before heading to Asia and the Americas for this season's closing races, the iconic Spa circuit looks set to play host to another fantastic weekend as the second half of the campaign continues at one of F1's jewel-in-the-crown tracks.
As the 14th race of the 2024 F1 season approaches, The Sporting News have gone through all the odds offered by our partner bookmakers to come up with the best bets, tips and predictions you'll need ahead of the latest edition of the Belgian Grand Prix.
F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2024 odds to win
It's finally happened – for the first time in 2024, three-time, back-to-back-to-back defending world champion Max Verstappen is NOT the favourite to win this weekend's upcoming race! Failing to win in three consecutive meetings, finishing fifth, second and fifth respectively has seen Red Bull's flying Dutchman fall to +350 odds, making him this weekend's third-favourite.
Instead, BetMGM have the McLaren duo Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri as their top two most likely to claim victory at Spa, despite the pair having just two race wins in their career – both of which came this season. Piastri is at +300 following his victory in Hungary, while Norris is a on a surprise –111 moneyline lead and is the clear favourite in what's technically a 'home' race.

George Russell's mixed weekend hasn't affected his ranking in the favourites stakes too much, and he's level with Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton on +1000. The Brit started 17th on the grid after a horror show in qualifying, but raced through the pack to finish eighth and recorded the day's fastest lap in the process.
Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez both had much better races in Hungary after horror shows at Silverstone, finishing fourth and seventh respectively after 14th and 17th placings at the British GP. They've still not moved far up the pecking order though, with BetMGM keeping Leclerc on at +2500 and putting Perez at +3000, level with Leclerc's Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz.

MORE: Predictions and best bets for the 2024 Formula One season
F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2024: Best bet
- Pick: Lando Norris to qualify on pole AND win 2024 Belgian Grand Prix
- Moneyline lean: +225 (DraftKings)
Being both a British and Belgian citizen, Norris is the closest we've got to a 'home' driver at Spa this year, and after giving up what looked to be a certain victory to his teammate Piastri at the Hungaroring last weekend, we doubt Norris will be in such a generous mood this time around.
The McLaren star is also the favourite with DraftKings to win this year's Belgian Grand Prix, but should he show just as much pace in qualifying down the rapid straights and tight corners of Spa, he could well find himself on pole too. To go on and claim victory, going one better than last weekend, DraftKings have the 24-year-old on a +225 moneyline lean.
F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2024: Prop bet
- Pick: Lewis Hamilton OR George Russell to record fastest lap time
- Moneyline lean: both +700 (BetMGM)
Like McLaren, Mercedes have burst into World Championship contention in recent weeks, with both Hamilton and Russell recording their first race wins of the season in two of the last three races.
The duo had, however, been recording fastest lap times for several meetings in a row before finally reaching above the parapet, and after Russell waded his way through a crowded field from 17th to eighth in Hungary – and still recorded the fastest lap, we think either he or teammate Hamilton could do so again.
Neither will fancy starting from towards the back of the pack of course, but even if they're mixing it with the front-runners come Sunday, BetMGM placing a +700 moneyline lean on both Russell and Hamilton is certainly a chance worth taking given the pair have recorded the fastest lap in four of the last seven races between them.

F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2024: Flier bet
- Pick: Max Verstappen to NOT be classified
- Moneyline lean: +700 (BetMGM)
This is almost unthinkable for a defending three-time world champion, but doubts over Verstappen's temperament and over-competitive nature have emerged after two high-profile incidents in the last three races.
Collisions with both Norris and Hamilton at Austria and Hungary respectively have seen the Dutchman fall from winning contention to fifth place – and both such incidents were considered to be his fault by the FIA.
Unless Verstappen cleans up his act, he'll be nowhere near the winners' circle if the next clash rules him out of a race altogether, and BetMGM have a +700 moneyline lean on that happening – collision or otherwise – this weekend.
