The 2024 MotoGP World Championship season is firmly back up and running after the summer break, and as we approach the halfway stage of the campaign, the riders are heading to the Sachsenring in Saxony for the latest edition of the German Grand Prix.
MotoGP returned last weekend at the Dutch TT in Assen, which saw back-to-back defending world title holder Francesco Bagnaia beat this year's Championship leader Jorge Martin by three seconds to collect a fifth race win of the season from eight attempts.
Martin's afternoon might have been different had it not been for a three-place grid penalty picked up during qualifying, and his second-place finish means that his lead at the top of the Championship standings has been cut to just 10 points, with Bagnaia now right behind him on 190.
However, the circumstances couldn't be much better for the Spaniard as he looks to re-establish a healthy lead at the top. He won last year's German Grand Prix by less than 2.5 seconds over Bagnaia, and has the added bonus of the Italian having never tasted victory at the Sachsenring.
We're back in full swing after the month-long summer break in May and June, and as drivers, teams and fans alike prepare for the ninth race of 20 overall this season, The Sporting News has all the TV, streaming and scheduling details you'll need to keep up with the action.
