Alan Bowman isn't too cool for school ... yet.

The Oklahoma State quarterback shared a hilarious photo of him before his first day of "19th grade."

Not many people can say they've reached 19th grade and even fewer have done so while playing a collegiate sport. Bowman is in rare company thanks to NCAA redshirt regulations.

Most people stop counting grades after high school, which ends at 12th grade. A typical student would graduate college after 16th grade. Bowman is three years beyond that and is one of the oldest college football players in the country.

Here's more on Bowman and how he's still eligible to play college football in 2024.

How old is Alan Bowman?

Bowman is 24 years old and will turn 25 in March.

The quarterback is entering his seventh season of college football due to multiple redshirt seasons. He enrolled at Texas Tech in 2018, playing eight games for the Red Raiders as a true freshman. He used a medical redshirt in 2019 after playing just three games at Texas Tech. He returned to action, playing in eight games in 2020 with the team.

Bowman then activated his second redshirt season when transferring to Michigan. He played limited snaps in three games for the Wolverines in 2021. He saw slightly more time in 2022 with the program but opted to transfer following the season.

The NCAA granted all players an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which is how Bowman got his third extra season. Four years of college, two redshirt seasons and a COVID-19 eligibility season adds up to seven.

Bowman spent 2023 as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma State and is gearing up for another season in 2024. Barring another medical redshirt, this will be Bowman's final year of college football.
