Why Declan Rice will MISS the North London derby

Declan Rice was sent off during Arsenal's clash with Brighton on Saturday after receiving two yellow cards.

The first came after the England international was late during a sliding challenge on the halfway line in the first half.

The second came in a somewhat controversial fashion in the second half as he poked the ball away from the Brighton player who was about to take a quick free-kick.

Joel Veltman then went to play the ball but missed and struck Rice's leg. The Gunner went down injured but was quickly shown a second yellow card as he rose to his feet.

Because it wasn't a straight red card, he will only miss one match.

However, that one match comes after the international break when Mikel Arteta's side travel to Tottenham for the North London derby, arguably the biggest game in their calendar.
