The curtain comes down on the 2024 Wimbledon Championships with a rematch of last year's final in the men's singles competition, as Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic face off once again with both players looking to create history with a win in the decider.

Last year's five-set final between Alcaraz and Djokovic was eventually won after 4 hours and 42 minutes, the third-longest in the tournament's history, as Alcaraz defeated the seven-time winner on Centre Court to claim his maiden grand slam title at the All England Club.

With Djokovic out to draw level with Roger Federer's record of eight Wimbledon men's singles titles, he'll be hoping his more straightforward path to the final will play a factor, as he looks to avenge last year's loss to Alcaraz, which was only his second in a decider at Wimbledon.

While Djokovic was given a walkover win in his quarterfinal with the injured Alex De Minaur before beating Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets last time out, Alcaraz has been pushed all the way, particularly by Daniil Medvedev over four sets in a comeback semifinal victory.

Before that, Alcaraz got past two seeded US stars; Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul, in the third round and quarterfinals respectively, and after losing the first set to Medvedev — who had previously beaten world number one Jannik Sinner — the Spaniard responded with three sets in a row to win 6-7 (1-7) 6-3 6-4 6-4.
