Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr. have unique styles that, when put in the ring together, could result in an epic clash of titans. The two face off for the IBF lightweight title in Kambosos’ backyard in Australia on May 11.

Lomachenko, 36, was thought to be on his last legs after losing against Teofimo Lopez a few years ago. The former lightweight king erased all doubts by winning three straight, securing a title fight against then-undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney. Though he lost, the Ukrainian looked like his vintage self against Haney, who won via a controversial decision scoring.

Kambosos was the unified lightweight champion after beating Lopez but lost the belts against Haney. Losing a rematch against Haney, both fights being in Australia, Kambosos’ efforts did not do him any favors in his own country. Still, he has tried to rebuild himself back to title contention.

Per Bet MGM, Lomachenko is the -650 favorite, while Kambosos is the +450 underdog. The fight has a chance to be competitive despite the odds. Kambosos looks to make it that way against the Ukrainian, especially after enlisting the help of Russian national boxing team coach Anton Kadushin.

"Lomachenko has an IQ, and he’s tremendous on his feet, but he likes to come forward too. I feel like what I bring to the table, the artillery I have, the artillery that I’ve added to my game [will result in a win],” Kambosos said to Fight Hub TV via Boxing News 24/7. “I’ve got a very good Russian coach. We’ve brought him in, and I’ve been working with him for the last eight or nine months since the last fight. So, we’ve been able to progress and add more to our game.”
