How does Rohit Sharma prepare for big matches?

Ashwin revealed that Rohit’s preparation for major matches or series is detailed and thorough.

"If there is any big match or series coming up, Rohit sits with the analytics team and coach and prepares for it," Ashwin said.

Rohit focuses on understanding the weaknesses of the opposition and plans strategies for bowlers and batsmen, ensuring that every detail is covered. Ashwin praised Rohit’s tactical strength and compared him to Dhoni and Kohli. While all three are tactically sound, Rohit’s dedication to planning stands out.

He (Rohit) stays very balanced and tactically he is strong. Both Dhoni and Virat were also tactically strong but Rohit works more on the tactics," Ashwin added.

According to Ashwin, Rohit is committed to maintaining a positive and light atmosphere within the team. This balanced approach helps players stay relaxed, even under pressure.

"2-3 things are nice about Rohit's captaincy. He always keep the environment of the team light. He makes an effort to keep it light." Ashwin added.

Ashwin also highlighted how Rohit backs his players fully, saying, "If he selects a player in the XI, he backs them 100%."
