Reigning champions Chennai Super Kings began the season by beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the curtain-raiser while five-time champions Mumbai Indians are set to start their journey against last season's runners-up on Sunday, March 24.
The new season will also witness a new format where the 10 IPL franchises will be divided into two groups of five teams each.
Which teams are in Group A and Group B and how does it affect the schedule?
Group A consists of MI, KKR, RR, DC and LSG while Group B will have teams like CSK, SRH, RCB, PBKS and GT.
Teams in the same group will play against each other twice and once with opposite group teams, except one team in IPL 2024. The top four teams with the highest points will qualify for the playoffs.
