Most sixes in an IPL match: List of games with most number of maximums as SRH vs MI breaks records

Match number 8 of IPL 2024 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) saw the most number of sixes in a single in the history of the tournament.

SRH started the match on a fiery note as they hit 148 runs in the first 10 overs. They eventually managed to break RCB's 11-year-old record of hitting the most runs in an IPL innings as they posted a total of 277 runs after 20 overs.

A total of 18 sixes were hit in the SRH innings with Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klassen hitting seven each.

MI also looked in a destructive mode while chasing the total and in the end they ended up hitting 20 sixes.

List of games with most number of sixes in IPL 

The match between SRH and MI on March 27, 2024 witnessed the most number of sixes hit (38) in IPL history as well as in any T20 cricket match. It was equalled in the match between RCB and SRH on April 15, 2024, as SRH scored 22 sixes and RCB scored 16.

This broke the previous record of 33 sixes which were hit in three different matches, RCB vs CSK in 2018, RR vs CSK in 2020 and against RCB vs CSK in 2023.
