The Afghanistan star leg spinner suffered a horrific hamstring injury while representing the Trent Rockets against Southern Brave in the Hundred 2024 competition, on August 10.

Rashid suffered the injury while he was fielding in the final over. He had picked up 9 wickets and scored 44 runs at a strike rate of 151.15 in 5 matches during the ongoing tournament.

The Afghan had earlier undergone a back surgery after the 2023 ODI World Cup, before which he had ruled himself out of last season's Hundred 2023 season as well.

While his team, Trent Rockets, are now out of contention for the playoffs, following their loss against Birmingham Phoenix, however, with this injury, he remains a doubt for Afghanistan's upcoming series against New Zealand?
