West Indies and South Africa are currently facing each other in a two-match Test series. The first test ended in a draw after Alick Athanaze's match saving 92 runs in the fourth innings.

This series had come right after West Indies' 3-0 defeat against England, in July. Given that West Indies are unlikely to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final in the 2023-25 cycle, they will be looking to build a stronger team with youngsters, for the future.

South Africa has a chance to push for a spot in the WTC final, but a draw in the first Test was a minor setback.

The Proteas will hope to secure the second Test in the bag, in a series where they have had to transition without their lead batter Dean Elgar, who retired from cricket.

The opening day of the second Test at Guyana has seen a record of 17 wickets, with Shamar Joseph picking up another five-wicket haul.
