According to reports, Yadav suffered a side muscle strain after bowling his first over for LSG. He immediately left the pitch to receive treatment but did not come back on the field again to complete his four-over quota.

Yadav made his professional debut at the age of 20 in October 2022, playing for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Manipur. He bowled four overs, picking up 2/23 and impressing one and all with the pace he could bowl at, consistently clocking 150 kmph.

In December 2022, he made his List A and first-class debuts within one day of each other against Haryana and Maharashtra. In the 2023 IPL auction, he was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs. He had earlier attended trials with Chennai Super Kings, but was not picked up by the franchise.

Yadav sat on the bench for the entire 2023 season, but received his chance to play in the IPL on Saturday. He came into the attack in the 10th over, immediately bowling over 145 kmph, and hitting 150 with just his third delivery. His pace accounted for Jonny Bairstow in the 12th over, as the Englishman mistimed a pull shot and was caught in the deep. He then went on to get rid of Prabhsimran Singh as well.
