Belgium take on Slovakia in their first Group E game of the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

While much of the so-called "Golden Generation" for the Red Devils has largely departed without any silverware, they still arrive in Germany with huge confidence.

Belgium are unbeaten in their past 15 matches under head coach Domenico Tedesco, who took over for Roberto Martinez in early 2023. That run includes warmup friendly victories over Montenegro and Luxembourg in the lead up to this tournament.

They will next face the lowest-ranked nation in their group, Slovakia, in what should be a relatively straightforward starting match for their campaign, on paper.

Belgium vs. Slovakia prediction

  • Score prediction: Belgium 2-1 Slovakia

Despite being blessed with a lot of talent, Belgium have more often than not flattered to deceive in big tournaments. However, it would still be a huge surprise if they failed to open their Euro 2024 campaign with a win given their superior attacking quality, although Slovakia are certainly capable of making this a tricky contest.
