Two of the top nations in South America will face off in a highly anticipated matchup on Wednesday.
The Copa America 2024 semifinals conclude on Wednesday, July 10 as Colombia take on Uruguay from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Colombia have been outstanding all June dating back to their 5-1 drubbing of the U.S. in a pre-tournament friendly match. They lead the Copa America goal-scoring standings with 11, and those have come from a variety of scorers; indeed, no one in the squad has more than two goals. Jhon Cordoba, Daniel Munoz, and Liverpool's Luis Diaz each have two goals scored.
Uruguay, meanwhile, started on fire in attack but they've slowed down, with just one goal scored in the past two games. However, coach Marcelo Bielsa's in-your-face attacking style always creates chances for his teams and we can expect to see an end-to-end battle between these two nations.
It's going to take a strong referee to keep this game flowing, and both nations will get one of the best officials that CONCACAF has to offer for this match.

Who is referee for Uruguay vs. Colombia?
Veteran Cesar Ramos leads an international team of match officials, starting with a pair of assistant referees from his native Mexico.
Alberto Morin and Marco Bisguerra will patrol the sidelines for Ramos, while Guatemalan Mario Escobar is the fourth official. Ecuadorian Carlos Orbe is the VAR.
Ramos has been refereeing in Mexico's Liga MX since 2011 and has been a full FIFA international official since 2014. He refereed three games in 2018 and four games at the 2022 World Cup. Two of his matches in 2018 involved Colombia and Uruguay.
Jefferson Lerma, James Rodriguez, Luis Suarez, and Nahitan Nandez all took part in previous international games he officiated.
Cesar Ramos record refereeing Colombia and Uruguay
As Ramos has primarily worked in Mexico and in CONCACAF events, he has only refereed Colombia and Uruguay once each.
At the 2018 World Cup, he oversaw Uruguay's 2-1 win over Portugal in the Round of 16, as well as Colombia's 3-0 victory against Poland in the group stage.
Ramos did referee a couple of matches for Uruguay at the 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, which included Federico Valverde and Nico de la Cruz.

Cesar Ramos' Copa America 2024 record
Prior to Colombia vs. Uruguay, Ramos officiated two games at the Copa America, both in the group stages.
Most recently, he took charge of Argentina's 2-0 win over Peru, which featured six yellow cards, five of them given to Peru, who were kicking the champions all over the pitch. In Ramos' first match of the competition, he officiated Brazil's scoreless draw with Costa Rica in Los Angeles. He gave out just three yellow cards as Brazil failed to break through the stingy Costa Rica defence.
