Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen created a massive upset as he beat the reigning Asian champion and world number 4 Indonesia's badminton star Jonatan Christie in straight sets to reach the knockout stage of the Paris Olympics 2024 in the men's singles category in his debut campaign.
After an initial setback in the first set where at one point Sen was trailing 0-5, he came back strongly and clinched the two sets 21-18, 21-12 to qualify from the group stage.

The highlight of the match, though, came during the first set when the game was at a very close stage with Sen leading 19-18. The Indian shuttler executed an extraordinary behind-the-back return shot and eventually won the point.
Fans and commentators were quick to point out the shot similar to Indian film star Rajinikanth as they tried to stress on the athlete's extreme reflex.
