World cricket's oldest, fiercest, and greatest rivalry will be renewed as Australia take on England in The Ashes in June and July.
Australia come into The Ashes on the back of a dominant 209-run win over India in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final.
England, meanwhile, are ready to entertain with their over-aggressive style of play, termed as 'Bazball', as they hope to win The Ashes after Australia retained the trophy in 2021-22.
Here we look at the key details ahead of the first Test of this year's Ashes.

Where is the Ashes 2023?
Ashes 2023 will be played in England. The first Test match will be played from June 16 to June 20 at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham. After a week's break, the second game of this series will be played from June 28 to July 2 at the iconic Lord's in London.
Headingley Cricket Ground will host the third Test of this series from July 6 to July 10. The penultimate game of this series will be played from July 19 to July 23 at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. The Oval in London, which recently hosted the WTC Final, will host the last game of this series from July 27 to July 31.
At what time will Ashes 2023 start in India?
Each Test will be divided into three sessions in the following manner-
- The first session will start at 3:30 pm IST in India and will end usually after two hours after which the lunch break begins at 5:30 pm IST.
- After a 40-minute lunch break, the second session will start at 6:10 pm IST and go on again for another two hours till 8:10 pm IST.
- Following a small break of 20 mins, play shall resume at 8:30 pm IST and should go on ideally till 10:30 pm IST. However, often due to slow-over-rate, 30 minutes extra are added to complete 90 overs, in which case stumps will be called at 11:00 pm IST.

When will the toss take place?
The toss for the first Test in this year's Ashes will take place at 3:00 pm IST on June 15.
