The inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League T20 2024 (DPL T20 2024) kicked off on August 17.
Six teams - Purani Dilli 6, South Delhi Superstars, East Delhi Riders, Central Delhi Kings, North Delhi Strikers, West Delhi Lions - will compete in this T20 cricket extravaganza at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The domestic T20 league of Delhi will feature some of the biggest names from Indian cricket. The national capital has given some big talents to the national team, both now and in the past. Featuring the likes of Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma, the franchise tournament would hope to kickstart in style in its inaugural season.

Fans question Rishabh Pant's T20 batting as India star records poor strike rate in DPL 2024 T20 match
Rishabh Pant featured for Purani Dilli 6 side who batted first in the inaugural DPL 2024 T20 game. The star Indian batter came to bat at the number 3 position as the captain of the side, however, he managed to score just 35 runs off 32 balls.
Purani Dilli managed to post a total of 197 for the loss of three wickets, however, South Delhi Superstarz managed to chase down the total in 19.1 overs.
As Pant failed to make an impact in the domestic competition despite being a first-team player in the Indian national team, fans took to X to question the 26-year-old's abilities in the shortest format of the game.
