The Indian cricket team secured a historic win in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. The Men in Blue became the first team to capture the world T20 title without losing a single match.

Rohit Sharma and Co beat first-time finalists South Africa by seven runs to clinch their second T20 title with the match going down to the wire. South Africa needed 30 off 30 balls at one stage with six wickets in hand, however, the Indians defended the target with all their might.
Amid the euphoria of ending their 11-year-long ICC trophy drought, the BCCI, on Sunday, announced a mega cash prize for the victors.

How much will T20 World Cup-winning Indian players get as cash prize?
BCCI General Secretary Jay Shah took to X to announce that the board will pay a whopping INR 125 Crores to the victorious team. The players along with the coaching staff will receive the massive amount.
The cash prize is on top of the prize money that India have earned following their win in Barbados. The winning team received a sum of INR 20.41 Crores as prize money along with the coveted trophy.

When will team India return to the country?
There has been no official announcement for team India’s return so far, but the fans can expect news soon along with the details for an open bus parade celebration with the trophy, similar to what happened in Mumbai after the T20 World Cup win in 2007.
