Six months later, India found themselves in another final, this time in the T20 World Cup against South African side. Dravid highlighted it was high time for the team to learn from their previous experience and stick to their processes, even when luck seemed to be out of their favor.

"I’ve had time to reflect on it. I’ve had time to reflect on a lot of things we’ve done. You do realise, sometimes, you have to do a lot of these things, you have to do the process, you have to do everything right," said Dravid during the Ceat Cricket Rating Awards.

What did Rahul Dravid say on Rohit Sharma's captaincy in 2024 T20 World Cup final?

The final match against South Africa was a tense affair, with South Africa needing 30 runs from the last 30 balls. It was in these pressure-filled moments that Rohit Sharma's leadership shone through.

"Sometimes at the end of the day, you need a little bit of luck. 30 balls to go, 30 runs to go. Incredible execution, incredible calmness by Rohit," he added.

While discussing the final, Dravid acknowledged the role of luck in cricket. He mentioned how Suryakumar Yadav's remarkable catch at the boundary, which led to the dismissal of David Miller, was a turning point in the match. Dravid reflected on how such moments, where skill meets fortune, can change the course of a game.

He also recalled the ODI World Cup final, where Travis Head's luck hampered India's chances. The ball missed his bat 15 times, but India couldn't dismiss him, and he went on to score a match-winning century.
