There have been so many players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) who haven't had the opportunity to win the IPL even once, yet there are a few players who have had the luck to win the coveted trophy on multiple occasions.
Ever since the inception of the IPL, as many as seven different teams have lifted the trophy.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the inaugural edition in 2008, the now-defunct Deccan Chargers won it in 2009, while Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011. They won two more titles in 2018 and 2021 and claimed their fifth win in a rescheduled 2023 final.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won three titles in 2012, 2014 and 2016 while Mumbai Indians (MI), the joint-most successful franchise in IPL alongside CSK, were crowned champions in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won their only IPL title to date in 2016.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans (GT), who made their IPL debut in 2022, won the trophy in their first season itself but missed a chance to make it two titles in a row when they were beaten by CSK in the 2023 final.
Here, The Sporting News takes a look at the players with the most IPL titles.

Who has won the most IPL trophies as a player?
Outgoing MI skipper Rohit Sharma and CSK batsman Ambati Rayudu are the two players who have won the most IPL trophies as a player. Both the players have won the IPL title six times, more than anybody else.
Rohit Sharma played for Deccan Chargers from 2008 to 2010 and was the vice-captain of the team when they lifted the trophy in 2009 after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final.
In 2011, MI bought him to make him one of the most expensive buys of the 2011 IPL auctions. In 2013, midway through the season, he was made captain of the team and guided MI to their maiden IPL title as they avenged the defeat in IPL 2010 final to CSK.
MI went on to win four more titles as Rohit became not only one of the most successful captain in the IPL with five trophies as captain, but also the individual with the most trophies.
Ambati Rayudu, who represented Mumbai Indians with distinction for a long time, has also won six titles. He won three trophies with Mumbai Indians and then followed it up with three more trophies with Chennai Super Kings, including the 2023 IPL.
Rayudu, with six titles in his bag, has now decided to hang up his boots. His captain, MS Dhoni, also has now won five titles and is just behind Rohit and Rayudu.
