Star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who played a key role in the team's World Cup winning campaign in Barbados, will be gearing up for the hectic Test cricket season.
In the upcoming months, the Indian team will play Test series at home against the likes of Bangladesh, New Zealand and then tour Australia, towards the end of the year.
According to an Indian Express report, The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) and chief selector Ajit Agarkar reportedly had asked all India players to be available for the upcoming Duleep Trophy season.
However, Jasprit Bumrah is an exception, as he has been asked to extend his rest ahead of the Bangladesh series.
The six matches of the Duleep Trophy will be played in three different rounds - September 5 to 8, September 12 to 15 and September 19 to 22.

According to the report, Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the upcoming Duleep Trophy, which will mark the start of India's next domestic season.
The upcoming Duleep Trophy is also likely to feature India stars Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and several other internationals like Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav, who will be divided among the four teams - India A, India B, India C, and India D.

Bumrah, who is considered a very important asset as a fast bowler, will continue to be provided with an extended workload management period by the management.
He will return to cricketing action in the next home series against Bangladesh, which includes two Test matches starting September 19, and for three T20Is.
