Talented India bowler Shreyanka Patil has made history by becoming the first Indian cricketer to be selected to play in the upcoming Women's Caribbean Premier League (WCPL), which will take place from August 31 to September 10.
Patil will play for the Guyana Amazon Warriors and earned the contract to play in the WCPL on the back of her excellent performances at the Women's Emerging Asia Cup in Hong Kong for India A, where she picked up nine wickets and was chosen as Player of the Tournament, helping her side win the competition.

She was also one of the standout performers for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during the inaugural Women's Premier League, despite the franchise's otherwise below-par performance in the competition. Patil took six wickets in seven matches at an average of 32.00 and an economy rate of 9.84 for RCB.
Are Indian women cricketers allowed to play overseas?
While men's cricketers contracted with the Board of Council for Cricket in India (BCCI) can only participate in overseas competitions after they have retired from all formats of cricket (including the Indian Premier League), as of now, there is no such restriction on women contracted with BCCI.
