As the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games nears its business end, Team India have won five medals, four of them bronze and one silve.

Three bronze medals were won in shooting, with the other bronze in men's Hockey. Manu Bhaker won two medals, one in an individual women's 10m rifle shooting and the other in a mixed 10m rifle shooting alongside Sarabjot Singh.

Swapnil Kusale then went on to win a bronze medal in the Men's 50m rifle 3 position event.

There were high hopes for Indian badminton players like Lakshya Sen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty and PV Sindhu, however, they returned with zero medals.

Vinesh Phogat, on Tuesday, guaranteed India at least a silver medal after she became the first woman to qualify for the 50kg Women's freestyle final, however, the Indian wrestler got disqualified for being overweight.

However, the Indian men's hockey team won the Bronze medal beating Spain 2-1. And then star athlete Neeraj Chopra won India a silver in the Javelin Throw.

The country currently finds itself in the 63rd position in the medal standings at the Paris Games.

There have been many disappointments particularly with badminton players and with boxing, Nikhat Zareen, who was a favourite to bring back a medal, failed to do so.

However, all is not yet over, with several events lined up in the next three days. Another bronze is a likelihood in wrestling.
