Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu is back in action after picking up a stress fracture on her ankle during last year's Commonwealth Games, which saw her on the sidelines for more than five months.

However, things haven't gone to plan for the two-time Olympic medalist with her failing to make much of a mark in her recent outings, her latest being a round-of-16 exit in the Indonesia Open which took place in June.

Sindhu will be looking to pump up her preparation levels with the Asian Games coming up this year, followed by the Olympics in Paris next year.

Does PV Sindhu have a coach?

Currently, Sindhu does not have a coach after parting ways with her previous trainer South Korean Park Tae Sang. She had temporarily trained under Indonesian coach Hendri Saputra for the tournaments she participated in 2023.

However, according to reports, she has asked the Sporting Authority of India (SAI) for approval to train under former All England Open champion Muhammad Hafiz Hashim of Malaysia in her pursuit for an Olympic gold at next year's Paris Games.

"I think SAI will approve her proposal. She is an elite player for India and is likely to be the only woman singles badminton player to qualify for Paris Olympics," former national coach Vimal Kumar told PTI.
