Hockey: Indian women’s team to tour Germany, Spain

The Indian women's hockey side will tour German and Spain ahead of the Asian Games, which will take place in September-October this year in Hangzhou, China,

First, the team will travel to Russelsheim, Frankfurt where they will take part in some training sessions, before playing test matches against the likes of Germany and China from July 12-July 19.

Afterwards, they will move to Terrassa, Spain where a four-team competition involving South Africa, England and Spain apart from India will take place, before the women's side come back home.

Both these tours have been arranged in order to ensure India's women's hockey team is at their best to bring home gold when they go to Hangzhou for the Asian Games.

Hockey India announced a 33-member core group probables for the senior women's national camp on Saturday. The month-long camp will be held at the Sports Authority of India, Bengaluru from June 11 to July 11.
