Arsenal vs. Bayer Leverkusen lineups, team news, tour squads: Who is playing in preseason friendly game?

Arsenal have two remaining preseason games as they prepare for the 2024/25 Premier League season. 

Mikel Arteta's Gunners will face Bayer Leverkusen in their latest test as Granit Xhaka will be welcomed back to the Emirates on Wednesday evening.

Xabi Alonso will also return to England after his legendary spell as a Liverpool midfielder. Leverkusen are prepping to defend their Bundesliga title after their wonderful triumph last season.

Arsenal vs. Bayer Leverkusen predicted lineups, starting 11, team news

Arteta will have to decide whether to give Riccardo Calafiori his Arsenal debut against Leverkusen, following his recent training sessions with the team in the U.S. 

Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, William Saliba, Aaron Ramsdale, and David Raya, who all started preseason training last weekend, may also feature for the first time since they returned from their post-Euro 2024 summer holiday.

Arsenal predicted (4-3-3, right to left): Raya (GK) — White, Calafiori, Gabriel, Kiwior — Partey, Odegaard, Nwaneri — Vieira, Havertz, Martinelli.

Leverkusen's Exequiel Palacios will be out for four weeks after knee surgery earlier this week. 

Xabi Alonso's squad includes new £17 million signing Martin Terrier from Rennes, who scored in a draw against Lens, along with newcomers Aleix Garcia and Jeanuel Belocian.

Bayer Leverkusen predicted (3-4-2-1, right to left): Hradecky (GK) — Kossounou, Tah, Hincapie — Tella, Garcia, Xhaka, Belocian — Wirtz, Terrier — Boniface.
