Mason Mount's transfer saga has come to an end as Manchester United have completed a deal to sign him from Chelsea.
The England star moves away from his boyhood club following a difficult season with the Blues. They finished in the bottom half of the Premier League table despite spending over £500m ($634m) across both transfer windows in 2022/23.
Mount is looking to jumpstart his career again in Manchester, after signing a contract until 2028, with an option of an additional year.
Mount's addition is a boost to Erik ten Hag's side as United return to the UEFA Champions League. Their new acquisition adds midfield depth and will help Bruno Fernandes with creating and scoring goals.
The Sporting News looks at potential numbers Mount could wear for Man United in 2023/24.

As part of his unveiling at Old Trafford, the club have taken the bold step of giving the England star their iconic No.7 shirt, not worn since Cristiano Ronaldo's exit at the end of 2022.

The number holds special reverence with United fans, having previously been donned by club legends including George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Ronaldo.
Mount wore No. 19 jersey at Chelsea, but French defender Raphael Varane occupies that number at United, and the former Real Madrid star will retain it in 2023/24.

Alvaro Fernandez currently holds the highest squad number as he dons the No. 74. Alejandro Garnacho is expected to get a smaller number from his current No. 49 after a solid season with the Red Devils, while David de Gea has vacated the No. 1 shirt after his contract expired. The goalkeeper could regain the jersey if he agrees a new deal with the club.
No. 15 is available after Marcel Sabitzer returned to Bayern Munich following a loan. Wout Weghorst, who has gone back to Burnley, has vacated the No. 27.
