Following the fervour in Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, attention will soon turn to the next edition.

This iteration marked the first time 32 countries took part in a Women's World Cup, with previous editions only featuring 24 teams. Six different confederations were represented.

The United States have now gone two decades without hosting the tournament they have won three times, as the game continues to grow globally. Will their hunt for a fourth crown come on home soil? The Sporting News has the key details.

When is the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup?

Where is the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup?

Four separate parties have made bids to express their interest in hosting the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands have made a combined bid to host the tournament in 2027. It would be a similar scenario to the 2023 edition and how Australia and New Zealand are both hosting.

South Africa and Brazil have put in independent bids of their own for the competition while the United States and Mexico, two of the three countries hosting the 2026 Men's World Cup, have also shown their interest in the Women's event.
