The main event and co-main event of Misfits Boxing and DAZN's X Series ended up falling well short of expectations as Tommy Fury won an ugly unanimous decision over KSI, while Logan Paul defeated Dillon Danis by disqualification when Danis attempted several MMA moves in a fight he was well behind in.

It was an incredible event with high energy at AO Arena in Manchester, but it was marred by an almost unwatchable main event and a co-main event where only one of the combatants was interested in winning.

Fury (10-0) vowed to end YouTuber boxing but his performance against KSI (4-1) wouldn't suggest that the half brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was ready to move on from this lucrative venture.

Both promised to knock each other out in the dramatic build up to the fight but neither landed much of anything over the course of six rounds. KSI was content on repeating the same leaping right hand and Fury — the one who is a professional boxer — was unable to figure out how to counter the strategy.

The fight ended up being an extremely dull bout as there was far more clinching than punches landed. The only real drama was when Fury was docked a point in the second round for punching KSI behind the head.

For all the goodwill that Fury build up by defeating Jake Paul earlier this year, his boxing pedigree goes back into question by being unable to find the mark against KSI. It wasn’t a robbery as KSI proclaimed it was but the fight was close due to neither fighter landing anything of substance.

All three judges saw it in favor of Fury with scores of 57-56, although a tallying error on one of those meant a majority decision was announced in the right. There is some potential for a rematch but public interest won’t be nearly as high with such a poor exhibition of skill between the fighters.

The co-main event was no better as Dillon Danis refused to engage with Logan Paul despite vowing to knock him out. Danis spent more time fighting online by posting questionable pictures of Paul’s fiancé and getting under his rival’s skin than throwing punches.

Paul pounded at Danis from the outset as the MMA fighter did little more than talk trash and cover up. When he did throw a punch, it was either incredibly awkward or far off the mark.

Paul racked up a big lead heading into the final round as Danis wore the damage on his face. The only thing left to wonder was whether or not Paul would get the knockout.

He wouldn’t. Instead, in the final minute, Danis attempted an MMA takedown that Paul shrugged off and cost Danis a point. When that didn’t work, Danis went for a guillotine choke with seconds left in the fight. Paul shoved him off and attempted to punch Danis as he fell to the canvas.

Security spilled into the ring before things got completely out of hand as Danis threw more punches at the security team than he did at Paul. The embarrassing moment ended up getting Danis disqualified and put an end to a horrid fight.

Paul calmly accepted the victory and announced that he would be returning to the WWE and sought to challenge United States champion Rey Mysterio.
