KSI - Tommy Fury
(Wasserman Boxing/Misfits)

Tommy Fury continues his journey to destroy influencer boxing when he faces KSI in a six-round fight in the main event of a Misfits & DAZN: X Series boxing card in Manchester, England on October 14.

Fury is fresh off of handing Jake Paul his first loss as a professional boxer when he upended the influencer with a split decision earlier this year. But now KSI wants to do what Paul couldn't and finish the former "Love Island" reality show star, who shares a surname with the heavyweight champion of the world, Tyson Fury.

KSI's brief journey as a boxer has seen him rack up four victories -- including two in one night -- with three of his wins coming by way of knockout. His last fight against Joe Fournier ended in a no-contest when an accidental elbow knocked out Fournier in the second round.

While Fury may be more known for his big brother, Tyson, and his reality show celebrity status, he has focused on moving up the professional boxing ranks. After making his pro debut in 2018, the 24-year-old has a pristine 9-0 record, with four wins coming via knockout. His narrow victory over Paul is the biggest of his career to this point, but a win over KSI would boost his earning potential exponentially. And if he wants to be taken seriously as a boxer, he will have to end KSI's unbeaten run as a boxer.

The Sporting News provides insight on the odds and how to bet on this bitter rivalry.

KSI vs. Tommy Fury prediction, best bets

KSI’s brief boxing career has consisted of opponents with little to no boxing experience whatsoever. The one opponent who had a decent record as a pro boxer, Joe Fournier, was wiped out by an illegal elbow.

So what do we really know about KSI, the pro boxer?

Not much.

While Tommy Fury is not a world beater by any stretch of the imagination, he has faced his fair share of journeymen who have fundamental boxing skills, and holds a victory over Jake Paul. He demonstrated a solid jab in that fight, and worked in plenty of combinations to rack up the points for a split decision.

KSI has yet to deal with anyone with a semblance of offense, making it easy for him to steamroll the opposition. He’s in tremendous shape, but muscles don’t win fights, technique does.

We have yet to see what happens when KSI gets hit by a real puncher or how he deals with a defensively responsible opponent.

Fury is the rightful favorite, but at -400, there isn’t a great deal of value. Instead, look at the prop bets, where Fury by knockout is at +140, and Fury by decision is at +182. Six rounds isn’t a great deal of time to wear down your opponent and score a knockout. Fury isn’t necessarily a one-punch knockout artist either. The likely scenario will be that KSI starts off fast and fades late once Fury settles into a strategy where he racks up points and exposes KSI’s lack of technique. He could score a knockout late, but the best bet with the most value is a Fury win by decision.

Sporting News prediction: Fury via decision (+182)
