World No.1 bowler and India's star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has created a bit of history for himself on Day 1 of the first Test between West Indies and India at Dominica.

West Indies chose to bat first after winning the toss and the nature of the surface meant, it was not long before India captain Rohit Sharma brought on Ashwin into the attack.

And the off-spinner struck soon enough. He went around the wicket to Windies opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul and got one to drift in, grip and turn square past the batsman's unsure defensive prod. The top of the off-stump was disturbed and India had their first wicket.

And Ashwin had a piece of history along with it.

The first Indian bowler to dismiss a father and son in Test cricket

After getting the wicket of Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Ashwin has become the first Indian bowler to dismiss a father and son in Test cricket.

Ashwin has also taken the wicket of Tagenarine's father, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, a name extremely familiar to cricket fans.

Chanderpaul senior was an established batsman for the Windies for a very long time. He is a certified legend in Test cricket with 11867 runs to his name and 30 Test match tons.

Ashwin dismissed Shivnarine four times during his career, all four times in India. The first time was in 2011, in Delhi, when he dismissed him LBW in the second innings. In the next Test at Kolkata, Ashwin repeated the feat again.

Ashwin also dismissed Tagenarine's father twice in West Indies' 2013 tour of India as well.

Only four bowlers have ever managed this feat in Test cricket, before Ashwin.
