India beat Sri Lanka by 41 runs in their second match of the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage on Tuesday at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Upon winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to bat first. India got off to a flying start as openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill put up an 81-run partnership. But from thereon everything went downhill for the visitors as they were eventually bowled out for 213 in 49/1 overs.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj strike early for India as they picked up three wickets for 25 runs. Sri Lanka at one point were reduced 99/6 but a 63-run partnership between Dunith Wellalage and Dhananjaya de Silva brought the hosts back into the game.

Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya later cleaned up Sri Lanka's tail to make sure India sealed their Asia Cup final berth.

India vs. Pakistan: India player ratings

Shubman Gill (6/10): Gill started well and ably supported his captain to form an 81-run partnership but got dismissed for just 19 runs in the end.

Rohit Sharma (8/10): Another half-century for India's captain fantastic as he gave India the perfect start but once again failed to convert a good start into a big innings.

Virat Kohli (2/10): The Indian star failed to deliver after a brilliant innings against Pakistan yesterday as he got out for just three runs in 12 balls.

KL Rahul (7/10): The second highest scorer for India, KL Rahul batted well to score 39 and formed a 63-run partnership with Ishan Kishan which helped India cross the 200-run mark.

Ishan Kishan (7/10): Ishan Kishan along with KL Rahul made sure India cross 200 which eventually proved to be crucial as they beat Sri Lanka by 41 runs. Kishan got out for 33 off 61.

Hardik Pandya (5/10): While the all-rounder failed to deliver with the bat and got dismissed for five runs, he was economical while bowling and broke the De Silva-Wellalage partnership by picking up a dangerous looking De Silva's wicket.

Ravindra Jadeja (6/10): Jadeja bowled beautifully and picked up two wickets for 33 runs in 10 overs but failed with the bat, scoring just four runs.

Axar Patel (6/10): Patel played a crucial knock of 26 runs towards the end of India's innings, but he was unable to impact the game with the ball, even on a helpful surface.

Kuldeep Yadav (10/10): Another 10 on 10 performance by the left-arm leggie as he picked up four wickets against Sri Lanka tonight after taking a fifer against Pakistan yesterday.

Jasprit Bumrah (7/10): Bumrah did well to pick up two early wickets of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis to pressurise the Sri Lankan batsmen.

Mohammed Siraj (6/10): Siraj supported Bumrah in the earlier overs and managed to get Dimuth Karunarathne's wicket.

What next for the Indian team?

The Indian team will be back in action against Bangladesh on Friday.
