Asia Cup 2023: Jasprit Bumrah to miss India vs Nepal match - Why, what happened and when is he back?

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is all set to miss India's final Asia Cup 2023 group game against Nepal on Monday.

Bumrah has reportedly left the Indian camp and has traveled back to Mumbai for personal reasons on Sunday.

Why will Jasprit Bumrah miss India vs Nepal clash in the Asia Cup 2023?

As per News18.com, Bumrah is heading back to India for the birth of his first child. A BCCI official was quoted by the media who said, 

Yes, Bumrah is heading to Mumbai for personal reasons. It is not an injury concern or anything else and he will rejoin the squad for the Super 4 stage of the tournament.

Bumrah was part of the Indian starting lineup in their tournament opener against Pakistan on Saturday but he did not get an opportunity to bowl as the match was called off due to bad weather after India's innings.

Mohammed Shami, who was omitted from the starting eleven against Pakistan, is likely to replace Bumrah in the Indian lineup against Nepal on Monday.

When will Jasprit Bumrah return?

While the exact date of his return is yet to be revealed, it is expected that the fast bowler will rejoin the Indian squad ahead of the Super Four stage if India manage to beat Nepal in their final group game.
