With every passing day, as we reach closer and closer to June 1, the day that the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, the buzz keeps on elevating.

The 2024 T20 World Cup will be played throughout June, in the Caribbean and the United States of America (USA).

While there are less chances of weather conditions being as hostile as they are during the same time in other parts of the world such as England and the Indian subcontinent, the International Cricket Council (ICC) needs to ensure that there are perfect provisions in place in order to allow the best possible outcomes to emerge after a game with interruptions.

Are there reserve days for the 2024 T20 World Cup group stage and Super 8 games?

In March 2024, at the ICC's annual board meetings, it was confirmed that the 2024 T20 World Cup will implement the stop-clock rule, in addition to announcing reserve days for the knockout games.

There were no announcements regarding reserve days for the group stage and Super 8 games, though.

As has been the norm in the previous ICC tournaments, the teams will share a point each in case the match gets abandoned due to rain or any other external factors.

In case there are delays due to rain before or during the match, we could see a match with reduced overs, with the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method coming into the picture.

For the group stage games, a minimum of five overs will have to be played by the team batting second in order to constitute a game, and a minimum of ten overs in order to constitute a game in the knockout phase.

Which reserve days have been announced for 2024 T20 World Cup knockouts?

ICC had announced that reserve days will be allotted for the semi-finals and the final, but the dates for the same are yet to be announced.
